Planning note
Leave space in a coastal itinerary
Plan one main outing, check the journey and access, and leave a weather alternative for a boat trip or exposed walk.
A few things to keep in mind

Makry Gialos: make space for a slower day
Build the plan around a beach, a village visit or a short local outing instead of assuming every day needs a long drive. Check local access and conditions before setting out.
Makry Gialos: compare the whole coast journey
Include the arrival transfer and the outings you will repeat. A sea view in a photograph does not describe the gradient, crossings or access between the room and the shore.
Ierapetra: keep an island outing flexible
If a boat excursion is part of your plan, confirm its current departure point, operating dates and weather conditions with the operator. Do not make a fixed hotel decision around an unconfirmed sailing.
Ierapetra: plan for the ordinary hours
Look at where you will eat, park if needed and return in the evening. Check the selected room’s inclusions rather than assuming every coastal hotel offers the same arrangements.
Keep the return in the plan
Confirm the current last service or your alternative before leaving. Save addresses and essential confirmations so you can use them without relying on a live connection.
Let the booking support the pace
Read arrival times, luggage storage arrangements and the selected rate’s cancellation conditions. An itinerary is easier to change when the assumptions behind the reservation are clear.
