Planning note
A coastal room that fits the everyday plan
Compare Makry Gialos and Ierapetra addresses, apartment arrangements and the journey between your room and the coast.
A few things to keep in mind

Distinguish the village from the wider coastal label
Makry Gialos may appear as Makrigialos or Makriyialos, and provider addresses can use Analipsi, Sitia or Ierapetra administrative labels. Match the named property and its map position. For an Ierapetra-town stay, Astron’s Papaioannou address and El Greco’s Kothri address give more precise starting points than the island name alone.
Treat a postal box as an arrival question
Sunwing Makrigialos Beach is listed with PO Box 38, which is a postal reference rather than a numbered entrance. Save the property’s actual arrival instructions and agree the drop-off point with the hotel or transfer operator. A confirmed resort name does not make a postal box sufficient directions for a driver.
Choose how meals and the room will work together
The Makry Gialos shortlist includes apartment-style stays such as Afroditi Apartments and Villea Village alongside resort options. Check cooking equipment, sleeping arrangements and housekeeping in the exact unit. If choosing a meal plan, read which meals, venues and dates are included rather than assuming a resort name establishes the offer.
Compare the walk to the coast with the whole transfer
Ask about gradients, crossings and the route from your selected accommodation to the beach or town. Include the arrival transfer and evening journeys in the plan. Before paying, confirm essential access details and the conditions for changing dates; a sea-view photograph cannot answer those practical questions.
